Matt Fischer

Matt is an innovator, inventor, entrepreneur and brand strategist. He has started multiple businesses and loves to see ideas become reality. He has a patent pending and is always coming up with new ideas to improve his businesses. He also takes pride in creating lasting companies–his first business is now in its 14th year of operation. In 2008, Matt helped launch Luxury Home Magazine in Washington D.C., which is now in its 8th year as the number one source to market a luxury home in the nation’s capital. He deeply understands the voice of varied consumers, with expertise in startup and luxury markets.


Matt earned his Master’s degree in Brand Strategy from the top-ranked national program–The Brand Center at Virginia Commonwealth University. He has a gift for understanding trends and consumer groups, and he translates this knowledge into the creation of strong brands. He has helped multiple businesses with his technique of “branding by inception,” which he describes as a way to position a business for future success by weaving threads of branding through every aspect of a business. He believes that brand longevity and strength are built over time with consistent and quality branding. When Matt is not building brands, you can find him enjoying the outdoors on ski slopes or restoring historic homes and cars. Matt currently resides in Washington D.C. with his wife.

Mackenzie McOmber

Mackenzie embraces the art of communication as she employs words to help individuals and organizations find their voice.

Through two unique positions in Washington D.C., Mackenzie established expertise in writing and brand management. As a deputy press secretary to U.S. Senator Orrin Hatch, she worked to maintain his public appearance by developing strategy, tactics and messaging for congress and citizens in his jurisdiction. She also worked for the Political Affairs and Federation Relations division at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Through strategically crafted and executed brand awareness initiatives, she welcomed 319 chambers and associations to U.S. Chamber membership.

Before her work in Washington D.C., Mackenzie worked for Utah State University Extension, managing all forms of communication for both the USU Botanical Center and Ogden Botanical Gardens.  As a student, she established True Blue Communications, Utah State University’s first student-run public relations, marketing, advertising and design firm. While leading and working with student account executives and teams, she helped to produce content for companies throughout Northern Utah.

Mackenzie received a Bachelor’s of Science summa cum laude in Public Relations with a Corporate Communications Emphasis from Utah State University. In her spare time, Mackenzie loves to exercise and enjoys traveling with her husband and baby girl, Virginia.

Research Partner

Maria Oliveira, Ph.D.

With more than 15 years of experience in marketing research and communications, Maria applies solid analytical skills to understand and improve business strategies. Over the years she has helped global clients, such as MasterCard, Capital One, Western Union, Citibank, Allergan, Berkshire Hathaway and PepsiCo, to translate communications and marketing research into actionable insights that contribute to business results. With a diverse work experience, Maria held research positions in multiple countries in both academic and corporate environments. As VP of Measurement & Analytics at Edelman Intelligence, she created integrated analytical programs combining social and traditional media listening with primary research to test hypotheses, improve message penetration, and create more effective communication strategies.


Maria’s other professional roles include Project Director & Head of Financial Sector Practice at PRIME Research, Researcher and Faculty at Temple University and UNC–Charlotte and Public Relations Consultant at the Brazilian House of Representatives. During her time as an academic researcher, she had her work published in several renowned academic journals including the Journal of Business Communications, the Journal of Public Relations and the Journal of Public Relations Research. When Maria isn’t analyzing data to uncover insights, she can be found decorating a new corner of her house in modern chic design or rocking her baby girl to sleep.

Founder & Advisory Board Member

Angela Dwyer

Angela currently works as Vice President of Measurement Sciences at Lippe Taylor, and serves as an Advisory Board member at Elevate1850. As founder of Elevate1850, she delivered strategic research and insights to move clients on their upward climbs. Before Elevate1850, Angela spent the majority of her career at PRIME Research. While at PRIME, she offered research and consulting based on media analysis. Her clients included five Fortune 100 companies as well as several other large multinationals. As a Senior Project Manager, she led PRIME’s operations and new business in the Brazil and South American markets, based in the Sao Paulo office for two years. In Brazil, she worked primarily with automotive, chemical and financial clients. Before moving to Brazil, she worked in the New York office, coordinating work with PR agencies and clients from the consumer sector.


Angela’s experience in communications consulting is sprinkled with experiences at Fleishman Hillard in London, the Embassy of France in Washington D.C. and a nonprofit working with UN Ambassadors in New York City. She received the Aberje International Award for an academic study analyzing ethics in public relations in Brazil. With specific interest in international PR and research, she obtained a Master of Science degree in Public Relations summa cum laude from Boston University, after completing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications summa cum laude at Brigham Young University. Outside of work, Angela has traveled the world, visiting more than 30 countries across Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East and South America. She applies the understanding she has cultivated from travel to global and multicultural communications projects. She also loves to spend time with her husband and two blue-eyed, bow-loving baby girls.
